Inked
Awkward stares
Worse thoughts
All because
Of something I’m not
I’m reckless, a criminal
And maybe a fool
But you don’t see
I’m not even judging you
I work, I play
As do you
But I’m different
Cause I have tattoos
What I don’t know
And don’t quite see
Is why I’m judged
Cause I express myself differently
But need not worry
It’s okay
I’m quite content
Without your say
The stares will still come
And eyes will roll
I’m just inked
You’re judgmental
Okay guys, this is the first poem I wanted to share with you all. I’d love to know what you think. Please!

I love this poem and the picture that goes with it. They both speak eloquently of a situation we meet commonly. They remind me of principles that I subscribe to and occasionally forget.

Each book is judged by its cover. If the cover appeals, one might want to read what’s inside. But if the cover sucks, what chances does a book have. I think the same can be said for tats. If man was suppose to have them, we’d be born with them. Yes people judge. Of course people judge. Why make it harder? Of course, on the other hand, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all those other crocheted sayings, etc, etc, etc.

As promised, I’ve read your poem. Right off, I think your topic was great, because I’m all about not judging a book by its cover. Handsome is as handsome does. Secondly, the poem itself was well structured, and flowed naturally. So, you were selling yourself short. And the image you used is the perfect match to the poem.
