What Kind of Reader are you?

I came across this graphic a long time ago and decided then that I wanted to write a post for it. So, here we are. I don’t have any great wisdom to go with this particular question, so I’m just going to go ahead and answer the question myself.

What kind of reader am I?

I am most definitely not a polygamist reader. As evidenced in this post.

I am also not an extrovert reader because I’m not grabbing everything in sight.

I don’t recommend books so I’m no altruist reader.

I’m not a neurotic reader because I don’t switch between books.

Now the last two are the tricky ones. I only read one book at a time, but I don’t reread. And I generally stick to one genre. So I guess I’m an introverted monogamist reader? Ha.

What about you? Based on this graphic, what kind of reader are you?

Graphic first published here.

On this day in 2014 I published Not Your Typical Case of Writer’s Block.

  1. According to this definition, I’d say I’m a polygamist, extroverted reader (though I’m not huge on new genres— I read across many well-established genres and subject areas), with some altruistic tendencies. I do like to reread, and I can be introverted if I’m reading a classic or something exceptionally well-crafted that demands greater thought and analysis.

  2. I’d have to say I’m an extroverted monogamist reader. (Except on the rare occasion when I’m a little neurotic, lol. If that makes sense.)

I read tons of different genres & I’m not typically opposed to very many. (Except super boring ones!) I also usually stick to reading one book at a time. (Tho I rarely reread.) — However on occasion I’ll randomly switch from one book to another one & somehow I never make it back to the one I started first. Lol, I have so many unfinished books on my kindle simply because I got distracted by another book I found somewhere & somehow never made it back around.

  3. Not enough categories for me, since I don’t fit well into any one category. I just love reading, period!

  4. I guess I would have to say I’m an altruistic polygamist reader and slightly neurotic at times. I usually have at least four or five books going at once because I have such diverse tastes, and I’m constantly giving out book recommendations. I’m only slightly neurotic, though, because I do get around to finishing most of the books I start, even if it is three months later.

    • Four or five at a time? I couldn’t do that. Only in college did I rarely read two at a time. And I’m notorious for finishing books WAY after starting them. I’ve had my current read just sitting here for almost two months now. Whoops.

  5. Neurotic. Lol. I have finished just one book. That too of only 100 pages πŸ˜›
I read books but like, essays or something. Or topics. One topic. One or two page about something. I am just impatient. I need to get to the end immidiately. Or I loose interest. :/ πŸ˜›
