My 2015 Reading Biography

I did this last year. Now I’m doing it again this year.

2015 was rather rough on the reading front. 10 books. Just ten. I have no excuse. I started off relatively strong with four books in January and then it was all downhill from there. Here’s the breakdown:

Best month: January
Books in a series: 4
Rereads: 0
New-to-me authors: 5
Books from Amazon list: 4
Most common genre: Mystery
Authors read multiple times: 0

I think that’s it. I don’t really have much to pick from when I’m only looking at ten books. I’ll do better in 2016, right? I sure hope so.

Also, I’ve added a new page to the blog titled “2016 Reading Challenge” that’ll show the progress of my challenge throughout the coming months. So don’t forget to take a peek.

How was your year of reading?

  1. What a great idea. I’m going to do it this year. I’m a prolific reader but my numbers have dropped as I’ve become addicted to Netflix. A really great idea.

  2. I’ve read about 30 this year. A couple of those were re-reads when I couldn’t find or didn’t want to deal with anything new. But then I read masses of other stuff from my critique group which meets every single week of the year plus I’ve done a few Beta reads for people of their novels.

  3. I think mine was about 10 as well, but a few were pretty lengthy reads. And I didn’t really get back into reading until July. But now I read 30-60 min before bed every night and that habit has helped a lot.

I want to finish a book every week this year…we’ll see how that goes. All I know is that my shelves are overflowing and I need to read a few of these suckers before I let myself buy any more!

    • Haha! Yes! I have something like 59 books on my TBR shelf. Way more than ever before. I wish I could read right before bed but when I need sleep I can’t fight it off. So I don’t know how well it’d work for me. I do sometimes read before bed. Not too often nowadays.

  4. I don’t think I really need to comment here since you probably already know my number. But I’ll say it anyways. 🙂
    Original books: 120-130
    Re-reads: 50-60
I’ve branched more into YA this year, and into other genres, as well. And I have a whole slew of new books on my TBR list from being on Twitter now. I can’t wait for 2016!! So many amazing books coming out next year.
