  2. Oh, some of them are also on my book bucket list! Meeting JK Rowling for example would probably be the happiest day in my life. I think I would either cry or faint :’D or both!
Publishing a book in a traditional publisher is also a goal. I don’t know why, but I somehow don’t want to get published by amazon or something like that. Of course it would be a big dream to even publish a book, but when it would be turned into a movie, or get to the bestseller list, or win an award, that would be pretty awesome!! Another personal goal of mine is also to translate my own book. Just like Joseph Conrad did (when I am not confusing him with some other Russian-English author). I would like to translate my book into the english (I am normally better in writing in german, but translating a book would be great!!!)
Oh, and this year I am also trying to reach 50 books in a year ๐Ÿ™‚ I am excited if it will work out. I am, at the moment at my 6th book or something like that… It could be a bit scarce.. But I will not give up ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Ahaha I wouldn’t faint or cry if I net JK Rowling. I’d just be awkward. I can imagine a conversation going like this as she signed a book of mine.
“What did you like about the book?”
      “Um. The story. And Hermione.”
“Of course. So many love her.”
“YES! SHE’S SO SMART AND PERFECT AND I’M IN LOVE WITH HER!”
*she scribbles quickly in my book and sends me off with a forced smile. Hahaha

I would be okay with getting published by Amazon. One of my favorite authors went from St. Martin’s to Thomas and Mercer and I’m pretty sure it’s his bestselling book. By far.

I don’t even know any other languages. I don’t like you now.

AND we’re essentially on the same track as far as reading do far this year! I’m going to have to tell you every time I finish a book it something to get you to 50. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. J.K. Rowling: Heck yes.
50 books in year is a great goal! Probably my favorite on the list. I am going to try that the year after graduation!
And the find a book-crazy girl goal is pretty cute too. Good luck to you!! Go to a Barnes and Noble and offer to buy the book for the girl you strike up a conversation with; way better than buying her a drink at a bar. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Oh my goodness! How did I never think of that!? Seriously. But I’m kinda shy. Haha hmm.

And this is my first full year not in school and I’m off to a slow start. Only a couple of books.

      • It is a great plan to flatter a girl who likes reading! Just strike up a conversation about the book or author for a non-creepy intro haha. You’ll do great.
Well be sure to post your final tally of how many out of 50 so we can make fun of your for failing or applaud you for surpassing. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • If I fail miserably at the Barnes and Noble thing then I’m unfollowing your blog and deleting all your comments on mine. You have no idea how awkward I am. Haha

Hey! You’re not allowed to make fun of me on my own blog. For any reason.

  4. Wow. I love your bucket list. So adorable. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hahaha. To meet JK Rowling is my dream as well. I’d probably be speechless (totally) and starstruck if I ever meet her, though. She’s amazing. Oh. And you should finish the Harry Potter series. I see you haven’t crossed it out. You should. The books are amazing. I’ve read them, like, 20 times now. Anyway. Good luck with the rest. ๐Ÿ™‚
    God bless.

    • I agree. I’d be like….um. Your books were great. Yeah. Hahaha

Steve Hamilton was the first author I met and he was like….how are you? Good to see you here. I just nodded awkwardly and got my picture taken And left. Hahaha

I’ll finish them. I just read the first recently.

      • Hahahaha. Exactly. In the beginning of this year, I had the chance to meet writers from my own country, and boy. I was really awkward with them. I couldn’t say anything other than I loved your book. So, I smiled like a creep and nodded awkwardly, got my book signed and I left. Later, I wanted to kick myself for not saying much. Yeah, I’m pretty awkward too. Hahahaha.
Oh. Tbh, the rest of the books are better than the first. Idk. I shouldn’t say this. Because Jo is a Queen. But, yeah. When I was young I thought the first book was boring and scary, too. Especially, the scene with Quirrell and Voldemort. Ugh. That was scary.
Anyway. The rest of the books are written quite well. It’s as if Jo got better and better with every page. You’ll like them, I promise. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • So we’re both awkward around other authors? Marry me so we can be awkward together. Haha. I did meet another author later and we actually talked. He even told me how to get my hands on some books of his I couldn’t find.

The only thing about the first one for me was that Hermione didn’t seem like Emma Watson until WAY into the book. But that was it.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Awwwww. Hahahaha. Oh. Well, next time I meet an author I’ll try not to be very awkward. Haha.
Oh. Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Hermione’s character development was a bit slow for me. Idk. She kinda seemed boring in the first few chapters, tbh. But yeah. In the movies, Emma portrays Hermione very well… ๐Ÿ™‚

        Liked by 1 person

      • Is that a no? ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Good. Don’t be. Just think of them as the same as you. A writer. With some fame. Haha

She seemed a little….dull. And uptight. Then when they saved her from the troll a light clicked and she was herself. I don’t know. And I’m in love with with Emma Watson. So she could have been Ron and I’d have loved it. Hahaha

      • Hahahahaha. Wellllll, bookish guys are very hard to come by. ๐Ÿ˜› Hahahaha.
Yeah. That’s the problem. Writers, for me, are bigger than actors and actresses. I’m a total geek. ๐Ÿ˜› But, yeah. I’ll try to think of them as normal human beings. Haha.
Yeah. You’re right. She became herself after that Troll scene. Oh, awww. Emma Watson is really pretty, I agree. Oh, Hahahaha. Idk why everyone hates poor Ron. ๐Ÿ˜›

I agree. With Jennifer Lawrence being the lone exception. She’s quirky. And funny. And sarcastic. And real. Yep. You’re a geek. Agree with that statement. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t hate him. I think I’ll like him better in the books as I continue reading.

Hahahaha. I love Jennifer Lawrence. She’s very down-to-earth. That’s the best thing about her, other than her being really pretty. Well. Hahahaha. I’m proud of being a geek. ๐Ÿ˜€
Yeah. Ron is really funny. Just lots of people hate Rupert. And that’s sad because Ron is a good character.

      • If you say yes then I might jump on a plane and fly to wherever you are! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I could cross off something from my bucket list! The one that said find a girl who loves all things books as much as I do and marry her. ๐Ÿ™‚

She’s perfection. That’s it. And you should be. It’s wonderful. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think Ron is a better character than Rupert Grint was able to portray.

Yeah… Ron is much better. But still. I love HP, so it feels like a crime if I don’t like a character… Oh. That doesn’t include Umbridge, btw. I hate her and Twilight with the same burning passion. -.-

Oh. Wow. That’s cool. I saw DH 2 in Paris with my siblings. They all laughed at me, because I had started crying. >.>

Wow. You HAVE to. And I would be beside myself if I ever got to meet J.K.Rowling!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ^.^
And its every writer’s dream to have at least one of their works published. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I got my novel that I’m writing published. :*)

    • Yes! You should!

AND I know! ๐Ÿ˜ญ But I made the choice to not start them during the movies and then to wait a long time after the movies were finished. Cause I don’t reread books, and I want to have them unread as long as possible. I’ve read two.

  11. This is great! It’s so lovely to see another person who has similar writing goals to mine. I’d LOVE to go to a book expo/conference. However, I can’t meet many of my favourite authors because most of them died about a hundred years ago haha. Thank you for posting this; it may inspire me to make my own goal list. I wish you the best of luck with it!

  12. 2. Yea, Harry Bosch. I just finished Echo Park, so I’m up to 2006 after getting a late start.

Good luck with your books! We want to see your name splashed everywhere and all those awards on your mantle.

  13. I started this blog to use a “platform” but realized I don’t have the kind of time to commit to it as much as I’d like. But seeing all the work and energy you’ve put into yours has lit a fire up under my ass! Granted, I will get busier in the fall with graduate school, so I’ll try to commit to a weekly post (if that!) but I dig this bucket list. Prior to creating a page for this, I had randomly thought about a writerly bucket list and bam! I saw yours and posted a bucket list of my own. Thanks for being you and inspiring this blogger that has haphazardly abandoned her own blog. ๐Ÿ™‚ Cheers!

    • Haha it’s always nice to inspire someone in some small way. ๐Ÿ˜Š I say post on your blog as often as you have something new to say, which probably makes me sound like a crazy person since I post everyday. Ha! I’m going to take a look at your list now.

      • I don’t know how you do it. I’m a cinephile and I love watching TV shows so instead of blogging, writing, or reading I’m watching stuff! And then I get inspired and then I don’t write for another few days. I just love watching visual media! It’s my kryptonite!

      • I watch more TV than any person I know. It’s a little embarrassing. But my posts only take me a couple minutes to write. My goal is to write posts 300 words or shorter. Because no one wants to read a book on a blog.

      • You are so right. I try to write under 500 or so but sometimes, I write essays because I want to be thorough. But it depends on what I’m writing about too. What are you watching these days?

      • Ooooh. Well most of my spring shows are over, but here’s what I can come up with off the top of my head.
House of Cards. Bosch. Agents of Shield. American Crime. The Fosters. Switched at Birth. The Following (Just canceled ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ). Nashville. The Strain. Bates Motel. Tyrant. The Americans. Secrets and Lies. The Blacklist. That’s all I can think of. I’m probably missing some.

      • That’s a lot, yo! I try to limit to like three or four the most – and whatever inspires me. Mad Men – that was my show! I’m watching The Wonder Years right now (I got some posts inspired by some episodes in the future). Re-watching Veronica Mars – have you watched it? Detective show with a sassy blonde PI? Kristen Bell is da shit on that show. And Supernatural (on and off). More than that and I wouldn’t get Anything done! How do you have space in your head to follow them all?

        Like

      • Ha! I told you I want h a lot of TV! I never watched Mad Men. Or any if the other AMC shows. Just never interested me. I’ve only seen snippets of Veronica Mars. I just didn’t like it. I only know like two people who watch Supernatural. Lol. They’re all so different. So it’s easy to follow along. Or maybe I just have a big head. ๐Ÿ˜‚

      • Haha! Supernatural is a Lot of fun. It’s campy, irreverent, self-deprecating, silly, but also sort of serious when it comes to their horror type storylines. I’m having a blast. I was totally hating on it because the show was trying to fill the void left by Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the CW/WB years ago so I avoided it like the plague. After watching the pilot for the Third time, something had changed in me. And now I’m on Season 2 and I love it to pieces. But because these episodes are 44 min long, I have to budget my time to watch them. Mostly because I could spend a Day watching the show, so I refrain.

      • Hm. I don’t know. I just like my shows to be 100% serious. Like House of Cards. Or Bosch. The Americans. They’re all drama drama drama. I watched House of Cards and Bosch (on Netflix and Amazon) in a combined five days. That was 23 episodes. ๐Ÿ˜‚

      • Hardcore. I don’t like real life. I have enough of that! I like to lose myself in the unreal. I hear great things about House of Cards though. Definitely on my queue. Mostly because I love Kevin Spacey. That’s…a lot of time!

      • Kevin Spacey is EXCELLENT as Frank Underwood. He’s been a great actor for a long time, but this is the vest I’ve seen him. And it’s not even close. There’s no reason for you to not be watching it!

      • Just pick the place, really get it in your mind/heart/spirit and get the vision of it. Start setting aside bits of money for this vision, explore employment, volunteer positions, what that place needs that you can offer, and you are going to be so filled with joy when you realize …you are there. I once took employment on a historic schooner and was able to travel and explore with my daughter and have adventures that if I had thought of it in terms of practical or affordable we could never have done.
If you want to go, you will get there! All my best to you.

I have never had enough money to go traveling and yet I have used the above method and been many places on the planet.
