I told you guys yesterday about how impressed I was during my first experience at Half Price Books, and I promised to show y’all which books I came away with. It looks like I make good on my promises. Sometimes. Ha. Anyway, I’m just going to show you the books now. Normally when I glance over book haul posts I see long lists of covers and descriptions of the books included. I’m not going to do that because those are almost always ultra popular YA titles that everyone knows about. I’m pretty sure you’ve never even heard of half my books, so no point in me acting like everyone will know them. To the books!
I know you can see the titles just fine, but I’ll tell you the book titles anyway.
Mary Mary (Alex Cross #11) by James Patterson
The Strain (The Strain #1) by Guillermo Del Toro & Chuck Hogan
LA Requiem (Elvis Cole #8) by Robert Crais
Fahrenheit 451 by Rad Bradbury
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Dracula by Bram Stoker
I have two interesting points about these books before I leave you alone for the rest of the day. First, I’ll be making videos for three of these titles. And second, three of the books are actually new! I bet you can’t even tell which ones aren’t. Remember what I said about the books available at Half Price Books?
Have you read any of these books? Tell me about the books you’ve added to your collection recently.
On this day in 2014 I published Writer’s Privilege is a Real Thing.
You picked up some great books. That’s awesome!

I’ve never read any of them, but I would love to go to that store. Unfortunately there’s none in my area 😦

I have not read Dracula by Bram Stoker, but I loved the movie. Just by looking at the title, you have encouraged me to buy the book!

Ohhhhhhh. Dracula is one of the best books I’ve read. I love it. But I never had my own copy before now. It’s the vampire story of all vampire stories.

Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorites. And I looove Catch-22 🙂

I’m reading Fahrenheit 451 right now and I’ll be making a video for it since it’s from the Amazon list. I’ll be doing the same for Catch-22. Guess you gotta watch those when they happen now. 😊

It’s from the Amazon list I told you about on your blog. Which means a video will be forthcoming. (Once I read it.) 😊

Books written on some sort paper? How odd.

I honestly have no idea what you meant by this.

I meant “some sort of paper.” I was making a comment about all my books are electronic and it is strange to see hard copy books.

I guess you’re killing the publishing industry.

I guess. Or saving trees.

Nah. The number of books you buy or read doesn’t change the number of trees being used for paper.

Great expectations and Dracula: read a loooooooooong time ago and I have a good memory of both. Enjoy 🙂

I’ve read Dracula. It’s one of the best books I’ve read. But I didn’t have a copy. I think most people I know read Great Expectations in high school. I didn’t.

I’ve read Great Expectations, Farenheit 451, and Catch-22. Not too shabby. My fav of the three was Farenheit 451. I haven’t read Dracula yet. It seems from reading other comments that I should get to reading it soon.

Well I’ll be making a video about all of those you mentioned. Dracula is an all-time favorite of mine. I think if it were written today it’d be a runaway bestseller with people talking about how it changed the vampire genre. Even in today’s literary world. It’s that good.

I found Catch-22 by Joseph Heller hard to read. For me, it just moved too slow and didn’t hold my attention. I did read it back in high school off a book list that we got to pick books from, but I’m not sure if I want to re-visit that book and give it another go.
But I do want to get around to reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

Well I’ll have to see what I think of both.

I haven’t read any of them, but some of them are on my TBR bucket list. What a great find! I need to find where the closest store is when I’m done with my book-buying diet.

No, I haven’t. Shameful, I know. I feel like I have because of how my friends and book buddies talk about it, but it’s on my TBR list.
