Hosted by yours truly.
At the start of 2015 Popsugar released their reading challenge for the year and it took off. You couldn’t have a book blog and not know someone who was taking on the challenge. And now I’m looking to start something that’ll give me a chance to have one more thing in common with you all, and something else to discuss on a regular basis.
Here’s what you need to know. The challenge isn’t as daunting as the Popsugar one. It’s only 20 books. Which I know is more than doable for just about everyone on WordPress, myself included. And it’s really just a fun and interactive way to perhaps read some books and authors you otherwise wouldn’t have. That’s it! I’m fully aware that my girlfriend might be the only one to actually take on my little challenge, but it’d be pretty awesome if ANY of you also wanted to participate. I’ll be making videos for every book I read that’s part of the challenge.
And who knows, if you participate and complete the challenge before I do you might get a nice reward in the form of a Half Price Books/ Amazon gift card to further fund your reading for the year. How cool is that!?
That’s it! Now here’s the list for my 2016 Reading Challenge. Feel free to steal the picture and post it on your blog or Instagram account. (And send me a link too).
What do ya think!? Maybe a little interested? Say yes. And don’t forget to tag me either here or on Instagram @johnny_reads whenever you start or finish a new book for the challenge!
For the record, I hadn’t seen the Popsugar list in months when I came up with mine. There are a few similarities, but it’s a new year and I imagine there are plenty of books that can be read to fulfill any of the requirements. Now shhh, I’m off to start my challenge! A little early. Hehe.
I may try to read along with your list. My goal is to read at least twelve books for myself. I read arc’s and those are from my favorite authors but a couple I don’t read arc’s for. I miss their books! π

Yes! The difference between 12 and 20 isn’t much. Though I think there are some you won’t be able to get ARCs for. Like the birth year one. Let me know!

Interesting! I’ll bookmark it and see if any of the 50 books I hope to read this year match the bill.

I think I might try it. I’ll probably leave out a few on purpose, though. I already have some books in mind.

My brain must not be in the right space today. The whole time I was going through that list I was like, already did that in 2015, and that, and that, and that, and he wants me to do it again. Oh the horror. laughing, at myself.

Well I don’t know. Could always find another book to fulfill the challenges, right?

I love this idea. ‘A book published during your birth year’ is an opportunity to learn from some of the most amazing minds of the past.
Even though I won’t be participating due to my own activities, I’m wishing you the best.
Season’s Greetings John!
